How to Create a Resource Library in Circle

Video Summary

A resource library is one of the most valuable assets you can create inside your Circle community. It gives your members one central place to access replays, trainings, workshops, downloads, and any other content that would otherwise get lost in a discussion feed. In this tutorial, I show exactly how to set one up and make it look polished and easy to navigate.

The resource library is simply a post-based space displayed in Card Layout, which creates a visual gallery of content. Each resource gets its own post with a title, embedded video or file, optional description, and a card thumbnail image that serves as the visual cover. Using Topics (like Q&As, Masterminds, Workshops, Downloads) lets members quickly filter and find what they need from months or even years of content.

If you run live events, you can automatically record and post replays inside Circle, but for long-term organization—and to avoid running out of video storage—it’s often better to upload recordings to a platform like Vimeo and embed them inside your library posts.

Finally, using Private or Secret access settings and pairing the space with Access Groups lets you turn your resource library into a membership perk, complete with a lockpage that encourages non-members to join.

The result is a branded, organized, and searchable hub that becomes one of the most valuable and most-used parts of your community.

Key Takeaways

  • Use a Post Space + Card Layout: This creates a clean visual gallery of your content instead of a list.
  • Organize with Topics: Create categories like Q&As, Masterminds, Workshops, Downloads so members can filter quickly.
  • Use Consistent Thumbnails: Uniform images make the library look polished and professional—templates in Canva/Affinity work great.
  • Embed Replays from Vimeo (or similar): Helps you avoid Circle video storage limitations while still displaying videos natively.
  • Use Private or Secret Access:
    • Private = visible but locked (good for upsells or encouragement to join).
    • Secret = completely hidden unless a member is granted access.
  • Pair with a Lockpage: Show non-members what they’re missing and link to join or purchase.
  • Titles Matter: Clear video titles make the space searchable within Circle.
  • A Resource Library Scales: Works whether you have 5 resources or 500—becomes more valuable with time.
